Historical overview

Water transportation is no longer available; Varantankuttikadavu site is now a field near the Kodumunda Railway Gate. The Velliyamkallu Dam, built in 2007, connected Thrithala and Kodumunda, and small boats and rafts were a major scene here as late as the 2000s. [1]

The Muthuthala Maha Ganapathi Kshetram temple was once open (as seen in a 1984 photo) and was renovated sometime between 1992 and 2003. [1]
