Chottanikkara Grama Panchayat is a panchayat in Ernakulam district, Kanayannur taluk, and forms part of the Mulanthuruthy block; it consists of the villages Chottanikkara, Kanayannur, Eruvely, Kureekkad, Vattukkunnu, Palace Square and Kottayathupara, and its packaged official reference lists the constituent revenue villages Kanayannur and Kureekkad. The famous Hindu temple Chottanikkara Bhagavathikshethram is located in this panchayat. [2]

In 2013, Chottanikkara Grama Panchayat was selected as one of the best gram panchayats in Kerala by the Union Panchayati Raj Ministry. [1][2]
